About Newham Swimming Club
Mission Statement
We are a competitive swimming club, committed to enabling all members to achieve their full swimming potential. Our purpose is to ensure we provide swimmers with the experience of training at the highest level in order that they can gain the confidence and skills to perform with excellence and competetively.

Club History
- Formed in 1991 when Plaistow and East Ham Swimming Clubs merged
- Grant aided by The London Borough of Newham
- Trains at Atherton, Balaam and East Ham Leisure Centres
- Competes in the East London Mini League and Essex Swimming League
- Organises the Newham Primary and Secondary Schools Swimming Gala
- Organises the London Borough of Newham Swimming Championships
- Assists in selecting the LBN Teams for the London Youth Games and Mini Games
- Assists in running the London Inter-Borough Swimming Gala and the Disability Gala
- Supported the bid for London to host the 2012 Olympics
- Involved in the planning of the New Aquatic Centre in Stratford
- Always needs new Swimmers willing to train hard and have fun
