Newham Swimming Club Executive Committee

Below is a list of the current apponted Club Officers, their roles and, contact details. All of them are unpaid volunteers, but without them NSC could not operate successfully.

The roles they cover as described below are not an exhaustive list of the work that goes on within the club, and the Committee always welcomes offers of help with its activities, such as the running of galas. In fact the Club depends on the help it receives from volunteers from amongst parents/carers and swimmers.

Chairperson - Margaret Foy

As Club Chair Margaret is responisble for the overall direction, leadership and management of Newham Swimming Club

In this role Margaret also chairs the Club's monthly committee meetings, the Annual General Meeting and represents NSC at external meetings.

Club Secretary - Martin Stuckey

Martin acts as a main point of contact for the club, and maintain records in relation to the administration of the Club and its meetings and communications. Martin also organises and publicises the Committee meetings and the Club AGMs, prepares the agendas and takes the meeting minutes.

Club Treasurer - Jackie Lavers

Jackie is responsible for all club finances and for ensuring adequate accounts and records exist.

Jackie is also responible for planning the annual budget in agreement with the club committee, and monitoring it throughout the year, and for ensuring that all funds are used appropriately. In addition Jackie also preparese the Club's end of year accounts for assessment each year and for presentation to the Committee and AGM.

Membership Secretary & Payroll - Jan Gordon

Jan handles the ASA membership for all of NSC's members, including the processing of new members' applications and the annual renewal process. Jan also takes care of chasing any late membership payments, maintains a record of members' details including contact and medical information.and processes any changes to members' details such as change of addresses.

Jan also runs the weekly payroll for the Club's coaching staff.

Welfare Officer - Ronke

Ronke is responible for helping the Club implement ASA Wave power policy and procedures, and the Club's child protection policy.

Ronke is the first point of contact for club staff and volunteers, young people and parents for any issue concerning child welfare, poor practice or potential/alleged abuse, and will ensure that all incidents are correctly reported and referred out in accordance with the Wave power guidance guidelines. As part of this Ronke ensures that all relevant club members, volunteers and staff have a current CRB check in place up to date criminal records disclosures/self disclosures.
