Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme is a programme provided by the Jack Petchey Foundation run in a large number of schools, colleges youth organisations in London and Essex and contributes a significant amount of money to support youth work in these areas. Click here for more information on the Foundation.
NSC has been a part of the scheme for a number of years and it has allowed the club to purchase equipment and pay for travel such as some of the longer journeys the club makes to galas. The way it works is that the club chooses one swimmer every two months who has stands, for instance in achievement or in the commitment he or she has shown to the club and to swimming. That person is then nominated to receive an award which consists of a certificate, a medal and £200 to be spent by in a way chosen by the winner of the award. There is also a related Leaders’ Award that allows the club to nominate a leader for receipt of a certificate, a medal and £500 to be used by the club.
